The Gardner-Webb University Department of Fine Arts is pleased to present a Distinguished Artist Chamber Music Concert on Monday, February 22, 2010 featuring the Great Piano Trios with world-renowned pianist and recording artist Phillip Bush as well as Cellist Daniel Laufer, Violinist Calin Lupanu, and Violinist Monica Boboc. The concert will be held at 8:00p.m. in Blanton Auditorium which is located on the main level of Hamrick Hall. The concert will feature music by composers Tchaikovsky, Arensky, and Rubinstein among others.
Phillip Bush, who is called “one of the greatest pianists of his generation,” has performed at Carnegie Hall and has over thirty professional recordings for chamber music and piano. Daniel Laufer is the Associate Principal Cellist with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. In addition to being the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster, Calin Lupanu is on the faculty at Gardner-Webb as an Artist-in-Residence. His wife, Monica Boboc, also on faculty at the University, is a first chair violinist for the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra.
