Social networks are ever evolving and largely set the pace for how we communicate in the 21st century. These communication mediums are no longer just a space for personal chit chat, but have become hubs for successful business transactions. Communicating and Marketing Using Social Networks is a new course that will be offered by the Center for Continuing Professional Education at Gardner-Webb University from July 5, 2010 to July 30, 2010. Participants will learn how to identify and use the social networking sites best suited to one's business needs in order to maximize communication, customer loyalty, and the accessibility of one’s product.
Suzanne Kart, Director of Marketing for the Learning Resources Network, a national association in lifelong learning, will be the instructor for the course. Her previous work includes being Marketing Manager at Delta College in Saginaw, Michigan, Director of Marketing at United Way of Saginaw County, and Anchor/Reporter at KWLO/KFMW. Kart received her master’s degree in education from Michigan State University.
Her current work involves e-Marketing, social networks, blogs, as well as traditional print and direct marketing. Kart is a national expert on Generation X and generational communication, having written articles and contributed to two manuals on the subject. She does training and seminars throughout the United States and Canada on generational communication, e-Marketing, marketing and social networks.
Participation is easy. Once one registers for the course, a web address will be provided to get into the online classroom. One will have a password and use his or her email address and password to gain access. With no real time assignments, one may participate in class discussion at any time of day or evening from any computer.
