Gardner-Webb seniors Marty Patterson and Corey O’Daniel have been named 2010 preseason FCS All-America by Phil Steele’s College Football Preview Magazine. Patterson (Mt. Airy, Ga. / Habersham Central HS) led the league in tackles last season with 107 and was named All-Big South for the second time in 2009. The 6-foot-3, 224-pounder was named preseason Big South Defensive Player of the Year earlier this summer by Lindy’s College Football Preview and is the third Gardner-Webb linebacker in the past two years to earn preseason All-America honors – joining Mario Brown (2008, 2009) and Jeffery Williams (2009) in that group.
