Gardner-Webb University is proud to host Crossroads Worldwide’s annual series of four week-long sessions of summer camps to take place June 28-July 2, July 5-July 9, July 12-July 16, and July 18-July 22. Crossroads Summer Camp is no stranger to Gardner-Webb; campers have utilized campus resident halls and cafeteria for housing and dining needs for a decade. In fact, Crossroads, which celebrates 15 years of ministry this summer, is a family event: Clayton King, founder of Crossroads Worldwide and Carl Cartee, Praise and Worship Leader and popular Christian recording artist are both 1995 alumni of Gardner-Webb University.
The 2010 Crossroads Summer Camp will feature a theme of divine identity. In addition to short devotional gatherings and worship service celebrations, morning workshops will highlight a study called “Who do you say I am?” During these times, middle and high school students will examine what the Word of God says about the character of Jesus through his I AM statements in the book of John. Through this study, campers will see who Jesus is as the Light of the World, Good Shepherd, and True Vine.
During their stay at the camp, students from sixth to twelfth grade will participate in various activities on and off campus, including discipleship training, worship celebrations, home missions, rock climbing, repelling, drama, tubing, hiking, and much more. Campers will also be assigned several service projects to complete in and around the community.
A special emphasis will also be given to the India Love Offering, which will assist operational efforts by Hopegivers International, Crosspoint of India, and the Lady Willingdon Hospital where Crossroads’ first full time missionaries, Grand and Charlene Campbell, serve. Crossroads Camps have raised more than $450,000 over last 12 years, and these gifts have helped to feed children, support missionary families, and build churches as well as housing facilities for orphans.
Crossroads Worldwide is a non-profit ministry located in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. More than 30,000 students have attended Crossroads events, and Crossroads speakers have spoken to over 2 million people worldwide at rallies, conferences, churches, public school assemblies, Bible studies and crusades.
The community is welcomed to attend Evening Celebration which will take place at 7:00p.m.each night in the Lutz-Yelton Convocation Center.
