Gardner-Webb’s Chelsea Hearne named Big South Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

Gardner-Webb junior goalkeeper Chelsea Hearne has received the Big South Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honor for games played August 23rd-29th, as announced today by the League office. Hearne earned her defensive accolade as she had six saves in 110 minutes of play in a double overtime tie with East Tennessee State this past Friday evening. ETSU had several chances to score, taking a total of 20 shots throughout the match, yet none were able to get past the Tampa, Fla. native.
