The sophomore thrower highlighted day one of the 2011 Big South Indoor Track & Field Championships for the Runnin' Bulldogs, setting a new school record and earning all-conference honors with a first-place finish in the shot put event with a mark of 13.41 meters (44'). The Queens, N.Y. native recorded a fifth-place finish in the women's weight throw event on Friday with a school record and personal best mark of 16.19 meters (53'1.50"). Gardner-Webb had 11 total all-conference performers at the two-day event in Clemson, S.C. The 5'11" hurler attended and lettered at Flushing High School and was the PSAC Indoor City and Borough Champion and state finalist as a senior and a sophomore. Click here to continue this article.
