Edward Allen Shifflette, III and Laura Anne Bowen were married on May 23, 2009 at Sedge Garden United Methodist Church in Kernersville, North Carolina. Eddie attends Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University and Laura is a Nurse at Duke University Hospital.

Jean Falls Moore recently retired from Cleveland Medical Associates after 42 years in the field of nursing. In addition to serving at a hospital in Anchorage Alaska, she has worked at Kings Mountain Hospital and Hendricks-Durham-Lee Clinic. Jean and her husband, Rick, have two children and three grandchildren.

Barbara Rose Blackburn and Peter Paul Hale were united in marriage on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at Providence Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. She is employed by the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and he is employed by Law Practice Solutions. The couple will take a honeymoon trip to St. Lucia. They reside in Fletcher.

William "Richard" Ward passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at his residence. He taught English at Sumter High School. Richard was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. He is survived by his mother, sister, and two nieces.

Laura Cheree' Clontz will receive her Master's of Divinity degree with a concentration in Psychology and Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary on May 7, 2010. Laura is currently serving at First Baptist Church Colleyville in Colleyville, Texas as the Preschool Ministry Assistant, co-directing their specialized Pre-K and Kindergarten programming.

Crystal Lee Lane and Christopher Gray Jester were united in marriage on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Mount Olive United Methodist Church in Yadkinville. She works for Cosmetic Dental Center and he works for Lewisville Fire Department as a firefighter. The couple will reside in Yadkinville.

Arik Lemmon is a Physical and Health Education Teacher at Crest High School in Shelby, North Carolina. He also coaches the Men’s Soccer and Wrestling teams at Crest High School.

James Holbrook Pass and Tara Roebuck Pass are the proud parents of a baby girl, Kylie Jenean, who was born on July 24, 2009. She was welcomed by her parents, and big brothers, Carson and Tyler.

Lance Vernon Barrett and Venus Masocol Arendain were married on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Tyro, North Carolina. He is a Social Worker with Child Protective Services for Davidson County Department of Social Services.

is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy at Winston-Salem State University. She is also working as a long-term substitute teacher at West Forsyth High School in Winston-Salem and is coaching the Riptyde YMCA Swim Team.
